Yesterday, on a bright and sunny afternoon, thousands of people gathered at Thornes Park in Wakefield to join Penny Appeal for our annual Eid in The Park celebration.
As our Eid celebrations draw to a close, we may find ourselves reflecting on our experience of Ramadan. For lots of us, Ramadan and Eid have been a time to appreciate what we have and give back to those who have less. We have spent time with family and loved ones as well as indulging in an array of enjoyable activities and foods.
We attended an interfaith iftar evening at The National History Museum in London, focused on giving young people a seat at the table when it comes to climate change.
As we reflect on the 27th night of Ramadan, we must remember what a special night this is. Alhamdulillah, most scholars believe Laylatul Qadr – the Night of Power – to fall on the 27th Night of Ramadan. This is the night when the Quran was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). It is a night of immense blessings, mercy, and forgiveness.
Our CEO, Ridwana, takes you on an inspiring journey behind the scenes at Penny Appeal's first-ever Big Iftar.
