In the last ten days of Ramadan, a most special and holy occasion, it is important now more than ever to demonstrate all the aspects of the faith, and practise the pillars of our beliefs.
During the last 10 nights of Ramadan, it’s more important than ever to carry out charity and good deeds, because you could catch the rewards of helping others on the Night of Power. Laylatul Qadr offers us all an opportunity to multiply our blessings by a thousand months – that’s 83 years’ worth of reward!
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches its close, we are reminded how important the last 10 days of Ramadan really are. It is during this time that the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet (ﷺ) on Laylatul Qadr, and though we don’t know exactly which day in these last 10 days of Ramadan our Holy Scripture was revealed, we do know that it brings immense rewards.
Earlier this month, we launched our brand new range of virtual challenges, Let’s MOVE-Save Lives. These virtual challenges include 7 different activities that you can take on at home to raise funds for our Coronavirus Emergency appeal.
Kaffarah is an obligatory religious donation to help those most in need. Unlike Fidya, Kaffara is made when a Muslim deliberately misses a fast or intentionally breaks their fast without a valid reason. To atone for their broken fast, religious tradition states that adult Muslims must fast continuously for 60 days.
In this pandemic, we must not allow victims of domestic abuse to be silenced by their oppressors. Help us end the silence, and encourage more women and men to speak up and reach out for support.
Fidya is a religious donation to the poor and the needy which must be made when a fast is missed through necessity. For each day that a fast is missed you are required to provide one person with two meals to redeem yourself in the eyes of Allah (swt).
Your Zakat is a beautiful form of charity, and one of the five pillars of Islam; it is a form of giving that removes you from greed and provides the less fortunate with the support they need. When you make your Zakat donations with Penny Appeal, our 100% Zakat policy assures that 100% of your donations are going straight to the people who need it most – giving you 100% of the rewards!
We wanted to take this chance to update you on how Penny Appeal is managing the unprecedented challenges which the coronavirus pandemic is presenting - and to thank you for your ongoing support which is so vital at this difficult time.
