Penny Appeal Joins Prestigious Safeguarding Groups: Our Commitment to Protecting Vulnerable Communities
In a significant stride towards ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable communities worldwide, Penny Appeal are proud to announce our memberships of the UK’s Safeguarding Leads Network and of Bond's Safeguarding Steering Group. These memberships underscore our unwavering dedication to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding practices in the international development sector.
Bond, an esteemed organisation dedicated to strengthening networks of charity organisations, collaborates with its members to foster a culture of transparency and accountability. As a member of the Safeguarding Steering Group, Penny Appeal joins forces with other reputable organizations to address challenges and share best practices in safeguarding, while preventing sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment across the sector.
Penny Appeal joins the steering group as its sixteenth member – the first Muslim charity to join – and will be working alongside organisations such as Save The Children, UNICEF, Concern, MSF UK (Doctors Without Borders) amongst others.
Our acceptance into this valued group reflects our commitment to prioritising the safety and dignity of the individuals we serve. Through active participation in discussions and initiatives, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of safeguarding standards on a global scale.
Furthermore, Penny Appeal is proud to announce its membership in the UK's NGO Safeguarding Leads Network, a testament to our ongoing efforts to enhance safeguarding practices at a national level. With over 113 members, this network provides invaluable opportunities for collaboration, learning, and effective representation.
Securing membership in the NGO Safeguarding Leads Network positions Penny Appeal at the forefront of safeguarding efforts in the UK, granting us access to the latest updates in procedures, protocols, and legislation. Through collaboration with organizations like Save the Children-UK and other relevant forums, we are poised to further strengthen our safeguarding efforts and ensure the well-being of all individuals we serve.
As we embark on this journey of progress and collaboration, Penny Appeal remains steadfast in our commitment to protecting vulnerable communities. Together with our partners and stakeholders, we will continue to strive for excellence in safeguarding practices, ensuring that every individual's safety and dignity are upheld.
Join us as we move onward and upward, united in our mission to create a world where all individuals are safe, respected, and empowered. Together, let's make a lasting impact and build a future where safeguarding is not just a priority but a fundamental human right.
