PENNY APPEAL ON PAKISTAN FM
Penny Appeal's first ever radio show was broadcast live on Wednesday 27th July on Pakistan FM Bradford. The radio station kindly offered Penny Appeal the two-hour slot from 5 to 7pm in support of its Everest Base Camp Challenge.
The youngest member of the Base Camp Challenge team, Muzzamil Khan (17) was live on air and joined by trek sponsors Loving Sheesha and Unit-16. Muzzamil commented: "Mmain aim from this radio appeal was obviously to attract donations and sponsors, but I also wanted to raise awareness of the charity, the Base Camp trek and to recognise how hard the trekkers are working towards making a change for Pakistan's flood victims. They urgently need our support and to make change happen we need your support."
The trek will take place from 2-18th December 2011 and 12 volunteers have risen to the challenge with the aim of raising £40,000 to rebuild a village that was devastated by last year's floods.
The staff at Pakistan FM have urged their listeners to support Muzzamil and his fellow trekkers. "He is doing a great job. Even a small donation such a£1 will help. Ahis agnot many people get this opportunity, splease open your hearts and support this young individual to make a change in Pakistan."
Muzzamil added: "I would like to say a very big thank you to Pakistan FM for giving us the opportunity to be olive air and for supporting us in this campaign."
