Help An Orphan Child Follow in the Footsteps of the Greatest Man Who Ever Lived
Each year, in the month of Rabi Al Awwal, we come together to honour the arrival of a historical figure whose influence has reverberated through the ages. This exceptional individual propagated values of love, empathy, and justice, leaving behind a legacy that continues to motivate people across the globe – Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
By celebrating the Prophet Muhammad's (ﷺ) life, we are reminded of the importance of his message – a message that resonates with us today more than ever before. We are called to show kindness and compassion, to identify injustice and strive to end it, and to consistently seek knowledge in order to better ourselves and our communities.
The Prophet's (ﷺ) legacy is an example of the power of humanity – it shows that we can achieve great things when we come together for a common goal. As we commemorate his life, let us use the opportunity to recommit to the causes of justice, fairness, and righteousness. Let us work together to make sure that the Prophet's legacy (ﷺ) lives on in our hearts and minds forever.
The Prophet (ﷺ), was born in the city of Makkah in Arabia in 570 CE. Despite being orphaned at a tender age, he found solace in the care of his grandfather Abd al-Muttalib (RA) and later his uncle Abu Talib (RA). Even in his youth, he was renowned for his honesty, sincerity, and kindness towards others. As he matured, he gained a reputation as a fair and trustworthy merchant, earning the fitting title 'al-Amin', the trustworthy one.
At the age of 40, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) received a divine revelation from Allah (SWT) transmitted by the Angel Jibril (AS). This turning point propelled him to devote his entire existence to one cause that transformed the world forever – spreading the enlightening message of Islam. Given that he lost his parents at a young age, and later became the first person to cherish and memorise the sacred verses of the Holy Qur'an, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) can, in essence, be considered as the first Hifz Orphan.
Today, an estimated 153 children worldwide are orphans. Many struggle for survival and live their days trapped in a cycle of extreme hunger and exploitation. But for as little as £21 per month, you can change the life of an orphan child and aid them on a path to safety, comfort, physical and spiritual health, wisdom, accomplishment, and success. Penny Appeal’s Hifz Orphan programme provides all this and more – every opportunity a child needs to follow in the footsteps of the greatest man who ever lived.
Today, on the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), may we continue to be inspired by his legacy and honour him by giving orphan children a brighter future.
