Yes, it’s that time again – when the sun is (hopefully) shining, hearts are full, and the smell of samosas and sizzling BBQ fills the air. We're thrilled to announce the return of our much-loved community celebration: Eid in the Park!
What’s Happening at Eid in the Park?
This isn't just any event – it's a full-on family fiesta! Here’s what you can expect:
Funfair Rides & Bouncy Castles – Kids (and let’s be honest, grown-ups too!) can bounce, laugh, and spin their way into the Eid spirit.
Mouth-Watering Food Stalls – From desi delights to street food favourites, come hungry and leave happy.
NHS Engagement & Community Stalls – Get connected, get informed, and get involved with local services that care.
Live Qawwali Performances – Let the soul-stirring sounds of traditional Sufi music uplift your Eid afternoon.
Togetherness & Unity – Most importantly, it’s a chance to celebrate what brings us together: our shared values, our city’s diversity, and our love for community.
A Special Guest in the House!
We’re especially honoured this year to welcome the newly appointed Lord Mayor of Wakefield Councillor Maureen Tennant-King, as our VIP guest, alongside her consort, Mr. Terry King and honourable Simon Lightwood MP.
Their unwavering dedication to the people of Wakefield is truly inspiring – and we couldn’t imagine a better guest to mark this joyous occasion with.
