The Challenge

We would like to invite you to this unique opportunity to be a partner of a once in a lifetime challenge. A group of our supporters are undertaking this strenuous challenge event to raise awareness of the plight of the forgotten victims of the pakistan Flood victims.

The floods affected over 20 million people. Hundreds of thousands of homes and the livelihoods of their inhabitants were swept away by the flooding that followed the heavy monsoon rains in July 2010. At least 1,700 people were killed, over 6 million people were displaced, and in some areas over 80% of all buildings were destroyed. Over 722,000 houses damaged or destroyed. Even throughout this winter, thousands of people are still living in tents, doing their best to survive amongst the terrible devastation.

Penny Appeal plans to build ten £1,500 houses under the Rebuilding Pakistan Appeal. Future plans for the village include the provision of infrastructure, family-, education-, health-, and business support as well as other amenities to truly support and re-build this community.

The Cause

The Rebuilding Pakistan Appeal aims to build permanent homes in the village of Kamar Mashani, within the Punjab region, Pakistan. The houses will be of solid construction, built from bricks and cement, and will be considerably more secure than the properties destroyed by the floods. Each house will have two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, living area and a veranda - and will only cost £1,500 each to build.

Over 80% of buildings were destroyed during the floods. - Your company logo printed on the climbers' clothing (photos taken at base camp)
- Your company logo on the Penny Appeal website

The water supplies in the affected regions have been contaminated, resulting in the spread of disease and lack of clean drinking water. The installation of Tube Wells in the villages will be a permanent solution and ensure a constant supply of clean drinking water.

In return you will receive:
- A tube well built in your name (or business name)
- Your company logo on the Penny Appeal website

SMALL BUSINESS FUND
£250.00

This cost effective project has been developed to help victims generate income to support their families. Villagers will be provided with donkeys and carts to help them earn a living. The donkey and cart may be used to transport goods or provide various services to other businesses. The cart alone can be used as a stall to sell goods to the public.

AID PACKAGE
£100.00

Many of the victims of the floods are still living in tents until new homes are built. The Aid Packages will provide each family with basic living needs until they are able to be re-housed. Each Aid Package will consist of food, clothing, blankets and kitchen utensils.
